Early xxxxs Mountain wagon So called because it was commissioned by mine owners to get to their mines &negotiate the tight turns on the narrow mountain roads. It has a shorter wheelbase for tighter turns. (6'to footprint. 9' total). It has a drop down tailgate &removable rear seat for ease of loading luggage or cargo. It also has a toeboard so you can stretch your legs. Double bent staves for strength. I had rubber put on the wheels so it could be ran on floors or on the roadway without doing damage to either. The rubber is smooth. It has NEVER been hitched. It has NEVER been on the road. I found this beauty in a pioneer dump near Chelan wa in xxxx. I took it to the talented folkes at Canyon City Carriage Works near John Day Ore. They researched more than 6 months to figure out what they had. They were pleasantly surprised because there are so few mountain wagons &the this turned out to be # 100. The body is oak. The wheels are hickory. Pictures do not do it justice. You must lay eyes on it. It has always been garaged. It was in eastern Washington till 3 years ago when i brought it to Shelton. It is light enough for a saddle horse to pull. 2 people can easily load it on a flatbed truck or in a Uhaul (how i got it here). It needs to be brought out if the closet and be admired.
